Activity Versus Productivity

With some many types of media ads in our faces, coupled with family, work and our personal lives  remaining focus  can be challenging.  In the midst of all the distractions we need to heighten our awareness as to not confuse activity with productivity. At the end of the day if we ask ourselves out of all the activities done how much  was positive or purposeful, we may get a clear picture of activity versus productivity.

UNSTOPPABLE JOY!

You are destined to repeat the history of your life until you reform the history of your mind. It’s vital to our lives and to our future that we learn to rehearse God’s principles of Truth. Focusing on the joy of the Lord in your life will transform your world. A smile is an attractive invitation for others to participate in whatever it is that brings you joy. Joy is contagious!
To effectively walk this out we must understand our soul. We are body, soul and spirit.
Gen 2:7 And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (ASV)
“Soul” is the Hebrew word “Nephesh” and also translates as mind, appetite, desire & emotion.
1 Pet 2:11 I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul. NAS
Obviously the body is not the soul as there is a tension between the body and the soul. To give in to the body is to war against the soul.
Heb 4:12 Teaches us clearly that the Word of God divides soul from spirit so clearly the spirit is not the soul.
The soul is distinctly different from the spirit or body. A person’s soul is likened to a computer’s processor. What you input through your soul gets processed into your life.
As a man thinks in his heart so is he – Prov 23:7. Obviously you have a thinking heart and this is not just a brain issue. Your powerful heart wraps it’s passion around what it dwells upon and your soul becomes entangled.
3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. NAS
You will prosper just as your soul prospers. If we can figure out how to prosper our souls we’ve discovered a key to which Jesus refers in Matt 16 when He said he gives us keys. This is one of those keys to unlock another dimension of life.
Ps 103:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord o my mind!
It’s easy to change your mind.  You just need information.  We change our minds all the time. In route to a restaurant and you hear a commercial, see a billboard and have a conversation about an alternative. Adding information to the already made decision changes your mind.
We truly are fearfully and wonderfully made!!!

Life Happens and I am grateful

When I consider the options, I choose life, without any doubt.   But that means that I have to be prepared for the ups and the downs.  And clearly there are lots of both.  Let’s see.  In the last two weeks I have been to a 25 year wedding anniversary open house, a high school graduation party, a Memorial Day service and a funeral.  We helped our 24 year old son build a queen size bed with three bench shelves to save space in a new apartment where he has moved because his college roommate who has graduated is getting married this month. Our air conditioner was out of commission on a couple of hot days and we spent a few days considering how we were going to pull together the price for a new air conditioning system.  Fortunately it didn’t come to that.  Turns out the thermostat had gone bad.  That being replaced we are good to go, better than ever.  Oh yes, one more.  We replaced our 25 year old dryer, a story all its own, to make taking care of our clothes ever so much easier.
Why run down these events, these happenings?  All of us have our own tales to tell, our own ups and downs.
Well, it’s because life happens, and we have a choice about how we are going to respond to it.  There is nothing we can do about much of it.  We only get to choose the attitude we have toward what happens.
And I choose to be grateful.
For starters, I’m grateful for life.  I’m grateful for memories, for smiles, for many small and large kindnesses.  I’m grateful for challenges to keep me alert, for strength to keep on going.  Most of all I’m grateful to God, the giver of life and every perfect gift.
There’s really no better way to express my gratefulness than to say, Thank You!

Why is Living a Purpose Driven Filled Life so Awesome!?

Living a purpose driven life is so awesome because it propels one to their destiny with a sense of fulfillment. Knowing that you are doing what you were created to do is one of the greatest joys a person can achieve. Women really need to strive for their true purpose because we can easily get caught in meaningless distractions, and well doing without really living a on purpose. To think when it is all said and done you can look back and say I did it has to be the ultimate phenomena.
